1. Background
Jabal-E-Nur Development Society (JDS) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Bangladesh. Established on 8 July 2004 by a group of committed social workers in the Kushtia district, located in the southwestern region of the country, JDS is dedicated to supporting marginalized and underserved communities. The organization operates with a strong commitment to inclusivity, serving individuals regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity, caste, or creed.
2. Legal Status
JDS is officially registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau of the Government of Bangladesh (Registration No. 3458, valid until 14 May 2035). It is also registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), Government of Bangladesh (Registration No. 3915(17)/04, dated 8 July 2004).

7. Governance
operates under a governance framework defined by its Constitution and administered by an Executive Committee, which holds the authority to determine the total number of members within the Society.
Membership is open to individuals who have demonstrated contributions in the fields of education and social service, uphold Islamic values, support the mission and objectives of the Society, and commit to complying with its rules and regulations. There are three categories of membership: General Member, Life Member, and Donor Member.
The General Committee, comprising all members, convenes at least once annually. These meetings serve as a forum to present the annual report, review and approve the annual plan, and appoint external auditors.
The Executive Committee is responsible for strategic oversight and governance of the Society’s operations.
